Tropical Conservation Internship @ FIU’s School of Environment, Arts and Society Research Intern
May 2017 - September 2017
Conducted research in seven Miami-Dade County elementary schools regarding food forests and food deserts. Used a hand-held GPS device to pinpoint locations of important vegetation, and neighborhoods lacking adequate food sources within a mile radius.
Coordinated with the Miami Education Fund to create a plant species index which detailed the various species cultivated throughout the elementary school food forest gardens.
Green Urban Living Center Volunteer
September 2015- January 2017
Created awareness on campus for environmental conservation, maintained the Miami Dade College garden, nurtured different species of butterflies.
Worked with 3 local schools to teach environmental sustainability through garden composting, plant variation and the importance of pollinators for food sources.
Received Presidential Volunteer Service Award by committing more than 100 hours of service cultivating plant life, restoring Eumaeus Atala host plants, and directing local Farmer’s Markets.
Event Coordinator, Tau Sigma National Honor Society

Active member, have attended all general meetings, inducted as Executive Board member for Fall 2017.
Coordinate Spring and Fall semesters induction ceremonies to ensure proper welcoming of all inductees.
One of the leading pioneers of the society’s first mentorship program.
Currently serving as Events Coordinator for the 2017-2018 academic year.
