Relay for Life Team Captain

As the team captain of Relay for Life, I learned how important it is to give back to communities in need and involve my peers in these type of experiences. While orchestrating this event, I did not expect to receive the amount of involvement and dedication I got from my team members and society participants. To be honest, being team captain of this event was one of the hardest tasks I have ever had to go through. Beginning with formulating a team, to explaining the event, and then finding team members that would actually participate throughout the whole event, relay for life was a journey. Even so, I did not let the difficulties cloud my perseverance- due to my dedication,  I was able to raise $1,500 for the cause as well as teach others about why giving back is important. I learned that I have great leadership qualities when I was approached  and thanked many times for my involvement in this event. I plan on participating in relay this upcoming March, I am proud to have served as team captain for Tau Sigma NHS.
