Global Learning Activities and Courses

GEO3510: Earth Resources

Fall 2016

This course focused primarily on earth and the natural resources found on our planet. I learned about environmental compositions and the role humans play on the destruction of the environment. On a global perspective, this course identified how other societies view Earth and it's resources.

PHI3640: Environmental Ethics

Spring 2017

This was one of my favorite global learning courses! I am a huge advocate for our environment and learning how to consciously make decisions based on the Earth's well being was truly eye-opening.

DSC4012: Homeland Security and Terrorism

Fall 2018

This course introduced me to the world of our country's forces of homeland security. I have also gained an international perspective on what terrorism means across different cultures.

CCJ4694: Human Trafficking

Fall 2018

In this class, I leaned human trafficking is a prevalent issue in Florida, particularly in Miami and Orlando. This crime is a global issue, as victims can be men, women, boys, and girls; this makes it difficult to create victim guidelines to better identify those who need help.

Dream Defenders: Camp Power

Spring 2018

At camp power, I had the opportunity to meet with young like minded people that shared my views on local politics and local level issues that affect our community. This organization strengthens the platform for young people to voice their concerns on political issues and allows  a welcoming environment for growth and an introduction into the importance of politics.

Instagram Live: Woke Wednesdays

Summer 2017

During summer 2017, I attended a series of online live discussions about a multitude of racial, environmental, and societal issues. One of my favorite discussions was the effect that young people have on social media coverage on a nationwide scale. I learned the impact and importance social media has on the way information is shared and distributed.
